CHILDCARE FACILITIES
The city of Karlsruhe offers an online daycare application for all families living in Karlsruhe and for all daycare facilities in Karlsruhe.

It also keeps a list of daycare facilities, which is also available as a brochure. The daycare facilities are organized by district and are therefore easy to find. The internet brochure is updated regularly and contains information on the registration process, the types of offers and financing. The site also provides information on supporting children with disabilities at kindergarten age.

The website www.bw-kita.de/ summarizes the range of daycare facilities in the district of Karlsruhe. With the help of a map and a data form, you can get an overview of the local offerings quickly and easily.

On the homepage of the city of Pforzheim you will find an overview of the local daycare facilities, the link to the central daycare pre-registration list and information about the types of childcare, parental contributions and financial aid.

CHILDMINDER
You can also choose a childminder to look after your child. Advantage: Individual arrangements can be made and the care times are flexible.

How do I find a childminder?
The city of Karlsruhe has information on its webpage. The foster child service is responsible and is also available for personal advice.

Offers in the district of Karlsruhe are arranged through the responsible childminder associations, which have taken over this task from the youth welfare offices. The der Bruchsal childcare association is responsible for the northern district and the der Ettlingen childcare association is responsible for the southern district. The pages provide information and offers for parents who live in the Karlsruhe district and are looking for a day care provider near their home.

CARE SERVICES FOR SCHOOLCHILDREN
There are various childcare offers for school children in Karlsruhe. With the reliable primary school, all-day schools and after-school care centers, parents can be sure that their child will be looked after all day. This school brochure provides an overview.

HOLIDAY CARE FOR SCHOOLCHILDREN
The range of holiday activities on offer is very diverse.
  • The club KiBU e.V. at KIT organizes a varied program for the children of KIT employees and students during the school holidays. You can find information about registration, the club and reports from past holidays at: www.ferienbetreuung.kit.edu/
  • The city of Karlsruhe's youth leisure and educational organization (jfbw) is aimed specifically at children and young people to organize their holidays. You can find the full offer on the website jfbw.
  • The Karlsruhe Lernverbund Klever e.V. organizes holiday care in the form of holiday projects. You can find information and registration forms here.
  • The Diakonische Werk Karlsruhe offers daytime camps for children during the holidays.
  • The AWO also lists an extensive range of leisure activities and trips for children and young people on its travel portal.

Church communities, sports clubs and youth associations also offer further options.
FLEXIKIDS - EMERGENCY CARE ALSO FOR STUDENTS
In order to provide even better support for all our employees and students in reconciling work or studies and family, the FlexiKids program was designed to support parents with emergency care to bridge the gaps in the childcare. The emergency care takes place in our daycare center KinderUniversum in Karl-Wilhelm-Str. 1, 76131 Karlsruhe. There are a total of 5 emergency care places available for children from 6 months to 12 years, two of these places are available for daycare children.
There is half-day and full-day care, which can usually be used for a maximum of 3 days in a row. FlexiKids can be used by our employees, doctoral students and KIT students in operational emergency situations, cancellation of regular childcare, short-term business trips or events at KIT.
