„It couldn´t be that hard!“ However, sometimes is the alleged pleasant student life a little bit overwhelming: upcoming exams are prone to cause stress; learning doesn’t leave room for leisure and recreation and connecting with other colleagues is more difficult to manage as previously taught.

However, there is a solution to the problem: The new workshops of the PBS are supporting you to manage more easily your study and leisure time.

All sessions are free of charge. As the number of participants is limited, please register via phone as soon as possible.

Beside the workshops, the PBS is offering also individual, partner and family sessions regarding all problems of living and study conditions. For questions and further information, do not hesitate to contact us.

“Meditation – the unintetional intention“
(Randolph Rüba)
Thursdays, 15.00-16.00 o‘clock, 10 appointments starting from 04.05.2017
Max. 12 participants

Why meditation? Meditation decelerates every-day life, trains self-perception, relaxes body and mind, sharpens intuition and promotes concentration. It’s easy to learn but hard to master – the group is incredibly useful during the learning process.
Various meditation techniques - without any religious background - are introduced and practiced during this course. Everybody is welcomed, from absolute beginners to enlightened users, or those, who just want to get a whiff, as well as those, who put much hope into meditation.

“Exam anxiety“
(Simone Pferrer)
Fridays, 10.30-12.00 o‘clock, 6 appointments starting from 02.06.2017
Max. 10 participants

“It would be wonderful, if program of study didn’t have exams! – Then studying would be fun!” Even in the run-up to examinations, many students encounter disaster thoughts, restlessness, panic feelings, concentration difficulties, sleep problems etc. The exam anxiety surpasses many areas of life. Yet, some students are less afraid than others. Why is that? What do they do differently?

If you are part of the group that tends to "catastrophize", you can learn a lot in order to deal with the fears and worries. The better you prepare yourself, the better you can adjust your tension, the more stable your life-work balance is, and the more frequently you practice the exam situation, the calmer and less fearful you will be during the exam.

“Cautiously during studies“
(Sylvie Branchereau)
Deinstags, 10.30-12.00 o‘clock, 7 appointments starting from 13.06.2017
Max. 8 participants

Learning for exams, writing the thesis, managing the household and additionally working alongside the studies, because the money is not enough ... who doesn’t know that feeling! The permanent pressure and stress to get everything under one roof can quickly lead to overloads. For example, many students describe how they have difficulty falling asleep or sleeping through the night, because they are so busy and they can not let go of their thoughts. However, it does not only play an important role in how much stress we have to deal with, but also how we evaluate this stress. The group " Cautiously during studies" aims at all students who are interested in learning different relaxation, mindfulness and imagination techniques and who want to use them. In the 7 appointments, you will have the opportunity to practice the different techniques, with the aim of counteracting both every day and study-related stress.

The group offerings for the winter semester will be annouced just before the start of the semester.
