Campaign "KIND&CAMPUS"

All students with children are now welcome to pick up a free bread box filled with give-aways. The contact persons can be found in the right column. ( Status: October 2019)

With this campaign, the Studierendenwerk Karlsruhe, the Karlsruher Bündnis für Familie, the Offices for Equal Opportunities of the KIT, the University of Education and University of Applied Sciences want to draw attention to the needs of students with children and point out the offers for this target group.

Studying with a child is not always easy!
Guidebook "Studying with Children"

The number of students with children is increasing, and that's a good thing. Many consider studying to be an ideal time to become parents. The reasons for this are just as varied as the student life with the child itself.
Are you also a studying mum or a studying dad? Then you already juggle studying and parenting and are characterized by your organizational talent and perseverance. Attributes that are later demanded and appreciated by companies in the professional life.
We would like to support you so that you can quickly find all information about studying with a child: Our guide bundles the most important topics such as study organization, financing and childcare or living at a glance. Simply browse through the individual sections, where you will also find contact persons and further links. We are always at your disposal with help and advice, please feel free to contact us. We wish you all the best for the adventure "Studying with a child"!

The brochure is divided into topics. In the respective topic segments we compiled a variety of information and addresses regarding parenting and studying.

It is of great importance to everyone who was involved in the making of this brochure to give you the necessary support in this particular situation in life in order to graduate successfully.

Furthermore, with your assistance, we would like to approach family-friendly measures and entrench them into a family-friendly study and working culture to which some of us are dedicated in the context of the certification as a university suitable for families.
If you have questions or suggestions concerning this topic or if you seek advice, we and our partners would like to be at your service.

At this point we would like to thank Frau Dr. Soff of the Pädagogische Hochschule. Due to her initiative the “Projektgruppe Studieren mit Kind” (project group for studying with children) was founded under the umbrella of the Karlsruher Bündnis für Familie. Out of this project the “Arbeitsgruppe Broschüre” (work group “Brochure”) emerged whose members have all contributed to the successful outcome of the brochure.
