What is BAföG?BAföG means Federal Education and Training Assistance Act and designates colloquially a financial support, which you can apply for at the Financial Support Agency, if you study. BAföG is also called educational grant. It is money from the state, which is paid in monthly payments on application and under certain conditions. Half of this monthly amount is donated money and only the other half has to be repaid later, so it is an interest-free loan.
