Student culture since 1977

The AKK (association for student culture and communication) was founded in 1977 and is the cooperative association of the AStA and the UStA at Karlsruhe University. It is a cultural institution for students which provides a platform for cultural work on an independent and self-organised basis. The well-known AKK-“Schlonz”, a pub in the old stadium, offers regular theme nights – and practically anything could be a theme!

Monday through Friday students meet in the café located in the home of the AKK, the old stadium, for a coffee in between lectures. (Opening hours: 09:30 - 17:00). The Internet Café is just another service offered.

In addition, the AKK offers various activities, such as movie screenings as well as various dance classes and workshops ranging from job application training or safety training for drivers to oriental massage courses.
