11th century: After fleeing Isfahan, physician Rob Cole and his companions end up in his old home town of London, where he hopes to spread the light of his medical knowledge. Soon he becomes entangled in the intrigues of the royal court and once again has to fight: for the lives of his patients, for recognition of his work, and against a whole new challenge—the suffering of the human psyche.

Director Philipp Stölzl once again stages a high-caliber ensemble of international stars and exciting newcomers: alongside Tom Payne as physician Rob Cole, Emily Cox, Aidan Gillen, Áine Rose Daly, Owen Teale, and Liam Cunningham appear together in front of the camera. Other roles are played by Malick Bauer, Jaouhar Ben Ayed, Harry Redding, Rosie Boore, Leonard Scheicher, Anne Ratte-Polle, and Francis Fulton-Smith, among others.
