What is a resident advisor (RA)?
Our student residences in Karlsruhe and Pforzheim have a student self-administration (SV). It consists of the student residence speaker (and deputy), the economic commission and other RAs. The residents in a general assembly elect the RAs.

WHAT ADVANTAGES DO I HAVE AS A RESIDENTIAL TUTOR?
  • Granting of an extension of the period of residence within the framework of the guidelines (one semester extension for one semester of tutoring; a maximum of 2x possible in total).
  • Confirmation of tutorship, which can be enclosed with applications, for example.
  • Right of co-determination and support in important matters concerning living in the hall of residence.
HOW DO I BECOME A RESIDENTIAL TUTOR?
Contact your spokespersons and tutors in your hall of residence. You will receive information about when the next election will take place. The election will take place at the general meetings of the halls of residence. If you are elected by your fellow residents, the Studierendenwerk will appoint you as a tutor.
REQUIREMENTS
  • You are a resident of the hall of residence in which you would like to become a tutor.
  • your remaining period of residence is at least 1 year
  • You are communicative, open-minded, have organisational skills, a high degree of energy, flexibility and creativity.
  • you enjoy community activities and their preparation and implementation.
