My Resume

My name is Katharina Mörs. I was born in far northern Germany, where I searched for places to live in Rhineland and along the North Sea’s coast (where I also lived for the longest time, which makes me a northern light) and where I found my first place of study. After two semesters of Medicine, I had to admit to myself that my interest in the intangible human traits prevailed. Therefore, I changed to my heart’s favorite subject, Psychology which I enjoyed studying in Kiel. After graduating, I furthered my desire to support others in challenging times by quickly starting further training in Psychotherapy. I begin this in 2013 in Bonn with a focus on Behavioral Therapy. My first experiences in the Clinic and in the outpatient sector reinforced my desire to work with others to find ways with dealing with difficult situations.

Since then, I have moved from Rhineland to the sunny Baden because of love. I have been working at the psychological counseling center at the Studierendenwerk Karlsruhe since the summer of 2018. It is because of the diverse group of people that come into the counseling center that makes my work so interesting for me. I want to offer support and guidance with a lot of patience and openness towards the individual. In doing so, I see myself as a development worker, working together to find ways out of the most diverse, sometimes very difficult, circumstances.

In addition to the experiences I gained in psychological or psychotherapeutic work, I am also happy about the experiences I gained from the many part-time jobs I had during studies and training: as a cleaner, an information provider, staff at a fitness studio and hospital, night watch at trade fairs, babysitter or harvest and production helper. All the people I have gotten to know along the way have enriched my horizons and I am looking forward to expanding them further.
