Network “Family in Higher Education”
03.07.2026The “Familie in der Hochschule” (FidH) association is an initiative of more than 150 universities, university-affiliated institutions, and research organizations from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. By signing the “Familie in der Hochschule” charter, members commit to implementing and sustainably embedding the compatibility of academic studies, careers, and family responsibilities. The Karlsruhe Student Services Organization is expanding its work in the area of family life on college campuses. On April 23, Executive Director Michael Postert accepted the “Family in Higher Education” charter on the campus of Johannes Gutenberg University. Balancing work, studies, and family life is important for both staff members and students in the higher education environment. Following the Munich Student Services Organization and AKAFOE Bochum, Karlsruhe is the third student services organization in the FidH.The Karlsruhe Student Services Organization sees itself as a social service provider for students and aims to improve the balance between studies and family
