My Resume

Geographically, my life journey can be described in two stages: Born and raised in a small city in East Westphalia, then in 1989, i relocated to Heidelberg to begin my studies and until today ,,Wunschheidelbergerin“. (wishful Heidelbergerin?)

Making a decision between the different fields of study was not easy: After the first semester of my Master's degree course in Educational Sciences, Sociology and Ethnology was the first course change necessary: Departments such as communication sciences, theater studies, music therapy, dance therapy and physiotherapy competed for the final decision, ultimately my choice was made in favor of the psychology degree course. One of the deciding factors was the vision of creative work in a multifaceted subject area.

More important than the studies in Lecture halls and Seminar rooms for me was my internships throughout my time as a student: In the range of Environmental psychology (Model project ,,Child-oriented City planning and environment design“), Educational counseling (counseling office for children, adolescences, and adults), Family therapy (Department for Family Therapy at the Psychosomatic Clinic Heidelberg) and Psychosomatics (Psychosomatics Specialist Clinic Bad Dürkheim).

The jobs that I did during my studies was very informative/educational, for example, as salesclerk, temporary worker in a factory, agricultural worker in a Corn breeding, Head of a children´s play group, an interview for a Market research institute and Dyselxia therapist.

1997 was the most eventful year of my life so far: In quick succession, I received a diploma in Psychology and then became a mother to a son (whereby the latter “title” entailed significantly more changes than the former…). Then after 18 months of maternal happiness, I picked up the professional threads once again. First as an editor for psychotherapeutic textbooks, then as a psychotherapist in the Psychotheraputic counseling center at the Studierendenwerks Mannheim and since 2010, in the PBS at the Studierendenwerks Karlsruhe.

What makes my life more colorful, richer and beautiful are my hobbies: I like to move in different directions, on different floors and in different shoes. Dancing was always an important part of my life, in the past particularly, Modern Dance, step dancing, Flamengo, for more than 10 years now, Tango Argentino and a newer project Lindyhop. Otherwise, I enjoy hiking and discovering new paths and opportunities for reflection, especially in Odenwald and in the Palatinate. My green thumbs help in my house and office with my botanical character.

Even if it may sound strange in the context of psychotherapy: I enjoy my job, I enjoy working with my clients as well as within the PBS team. Based on my training as a systemic therapist, I want to enable those seeking advice to treat themselves with a great deal of respect - even and especially when their own behavior initially seems nonsensical and illogical and demands a high price. Seeing yourself and your previous behavior in a benevolent light often opens the door to (re)discovering other options for action

In this sense, I am happy to accompany you on your path to new Perspectives and Experiences.
