KfW Student loans

Since April 1, 2006, the KfW development Bank has been offering a new loan program. With this, Students in their first semester can apply to receive a monthly sum of between 100 and 650 Euros to cover their costs of living. Normally, a student can be financed until their 10th semester. The KfW development bank offers student loans at a rate for each student depending on their major, where they are studying, their grades, their individual income, and/or the income of their parents. Collateral does not have to be cited.

The rate for KfW student loans varies, as it is redefined every six months. With the completion of a contract, the KfW guarantees the Students a capped interest rate for a period of 15 years. The repayment of the loans will be done in the form of monthly installments following the student’s entrance into working life. These installments can be extended for up to 25 years.“

Applications for KfW student loans can be found on the online loan portal. Starting in April, you can work with Credit institutes or Student Services, who work as middle men between students and KfW, to submit your application. The advisors in your area offer the possibility to receive personal advice, but can also perform a legally required identification check.

You can receive comprehensive information about student loans at any time by visiting the KfW development bank’s website at www.kfw-foerderbank.de.
