The new EU project EDU - Home at Studierendenwerk Karlsruhe

20.12.2023
On December 13, employees of the Studierendenwerk Karlsruhe took part in the kick-off meeting of the EDU-Home project - a new Erasmus+ project. The project started on November 1, 2023 and is funded under the activity "KA2: Cooperation Partnerships in Higher Education" and coordinated by the Italian non-profit foundation EDUCatt. It will end on May 31, 2026 after a total duration of 30 months.

The new EU project EDU - Home at Studierendenwerk Karlsruhe
With the exception of EDUCatt and the University of Dubrovnik (Croatia), all major partners from across Europe were represented at the kick-off meeting: the Association of University Residences - ACRU (Italy), the International Student ID Association - ISIC (Denmark) and Rivensco Consulting (Cyprus), as well as the Studierendenwerk Karlsruhe AöR (Germany). EDU-Home aims to create a platform on which all those responsible for the provision and organization of accommodation and all those involved in the mobility process can communicate and collaborate with each other. This should ensure transparency, reliability and timeliness and remove obstacles that currently make it difficult to find housing. The provision of appropriate, sustainable and socially acceptable housing also plays an important role in this search from an emotional and psychological perspective. The aim of EDU-Home is therefore to improve inclusion in higher education systems and remove barriers to mobility when looking for accommodation. It also aims to support international mobility within the European education area. To this end, all interest groups are to be involved and the presentation of the housing on offer is to be improved.

On December 13, the project partners were given an overview of the contents of the work packages, the tasks and the next steps required to launch the project. We are delighted to be involved in this important, forward-looking project!
